Children aged 0-6 and their caregivers are invited to learn and play together in the East Hills Storytime Room with the early literacy toy collection. In addition, we will sing songs and fingerplays featuring rhythm instruments, ribbon wands, scarves and/or shakers.

Join us for Storytime, where little listeners will cuddle up for a fun-filled story and then bring the tale to life with a hands-on craft adventure! Perfect for tiny hands and big imaginations. Ages 0-6.

Cool off with the staff from the St. Joseph Public Library for an end of Summer Reading Ice Skating Party at Bode Ice Arena.  Admission is free!  The fun is priceless!  All children must be accompanied by an adult. Safe and courteous behaviors are required to participate.  Food and drinks for sale at the Bode concession stand.

As part of this program, children get to touch geological and archaeological specimens. Presented by Dr. Zieger and Ms. Wilson of the St. Joseph Museums.

The Book Buddies Pony Express Therapy Dogs, in partnership with the East Hills Library, are offering children a way to improve their reading skills in a unique and fun environment. This program utilizes therapy dogs as the listeners for children of all ages and reading levels.  Drop in anytime during this 90 minute session.

The ABCs of IEP and 504
Miriam Galán, founder of Azul Esperanza, leads this workshop for families and caregivers where you will learn how IEP and 504 plans work, what your educational rights are, and what supports schools can provide. You’ll receive practical tools to prepare for school meetings, improve communication with school staff, and start the school year with security and confidence. Sponsored by Latinos Connect. Reader's Theater - 10 Ways to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse performance

This year, we will be putting on the short play 10 Ways to Survive a Zombie Apocalypse. The public will be welcome to view the performance on Saturday, August 8th at 1 PM.

A Reader's Theater is a low-stress approach to acting. It takes the stress of memorizing your lines out of the equation and gives you the opportunity to put more of your attention on the way that you are carrying yourself and how you are delivering your lines. 

Mario Kart fans of all ages are invited to test their skill at this unofficial elimination tournament. Will you be the fastest racer and reign supreme? Sign-in begins at 2:15 with the tournament commencing at 2:30 p.m.

Do you love to do jigsaw puzzles? We do too! But what do you do with the ones you have completed? Now's your chance to swap some you have done with some new to you puzzles! Just bring a puzzle (or two, or three) and we'll swap with each other.
