Parents! Do you have a young child who would like practice reading over the summer with a Teen Mentor? Check out our new program called A+ Readers! Each Thursday from 2-4 p.m. in June we will meet at the East Hills Library for some fun reading practice time. We will pair up the Teen mentors with young readers during this drop-in program. If we have enough volunteers, the program will continue through July.

This presentation will explain how Assyriologists are able to identify what stars and planets the Sumerian or Akkadian names are referring to.  As a case study, how Assyriologists know that MUL.MUL refers to the Pleiades, and that Sitchen’s interpretation of MUL.MUL meaning the solar system is impossible according to the astronomical texts.
