Public Services – 320

Dear Parent or Guardian:

We are happy that your child has a library card from the St. Joseph Public Library. By supporting your child’s decision to own a library card and use the library, you may be encouraging a lifelong interest in reading and learning. The library is fun too! We offer programs and activities for all ages, including seasonal storytimes for toddlers and preschoolers. The library has books, audiobooks, music, movies, and more for checkout. We also offer e-books,

e-audiobooks, and streaming content through our website at sjpl.lib.mo.us/databases/.

The St. Joseph Public Library strives to be a place for everyone. We provide recommendations for age appropriateness of programs and materials, but deciding what is appropriate for your minor child(ren) to access lies with you as their parent or guardian. More details are available in the enclosed policy 314 – Library Card Policy.

Public computers with internet access are available in all SJPL libraries. Minors 9 to 17 years of age are able to use those computers with a completed Internet Consent Form signed by their parent or legal guardian.

Our friendly librarians are happy to assist in finding materials in print or electronically for school research or personal interest. We also encourage you to check out the many databases available on our webpage, including HelpNow Homework Help and Tutoring.

Please contact me at mrevels@sjpl.lib.mo.us or 816-232-4038 if you have any questions. If you don’t have a library card yourself, we invite you to sign up for one today!

Sincerely,
Mary Beth Revels
