¡Ven a ver una película con nosotros en el parque de la Biblioteca Carnegie! Estaremos proyectando la película de Disney El Rey León (1994), con clasificación G, con audio en español y subtítulos en inglés. Habrá palomitas de maíz para los asistentes, juegos en el jardín y actividades para divertirte con tus niños. Por favor, trae tus sillas o mantas para sentarte. Puedes traer tus propios bocadillos y bebidas, libres de alcohol. La película dará inicio cuando se oculte el sol alrededor de las 8:50 p.m.

Come watch a movie with us in the Carnegie Library Park! We will be showing Disney's Lion King (1994) rated G in Spanish with English subtitles. There will be free popcorn for all, yard games and activities to do with your kids. Please bring chairs or blankets to sit on. You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks, no alcohol please. The movie will begin when the sun sets around 8:50 p.m. 

Get up close and personal with cool trucks, big vehicles, and meet some of our community helpers at our Touch-A-Truck event! We'll be set up across from the East Hills Library.

Celebrate Eric Carle's birthday with a Hungry Caterpillar Tasting Party! We'll pretend to be the hungry caterpillar and have a bite of each of the foods found in the book. We'll also have an obstacle course and craft. Please register so that we have a rough estimate of how much food to prepare. Intended for families with young children.

Come enjoy Pokémon themed crafts and activities! All supplies are provided. Bring your handheld games, cards, and art to share, battle, and trade with other Pokémon fans! All ages welcome. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult. 

If you enjoy watching butterflies, join us at the Downtown Library where we will make a beaded butterfly feeder that you can enjoy in your backyard!

The Book Buddies Pony Express Therapy Dogs, in partnership with the East Hills Library, are offering children a way to improve their reading skills in a unique and fun environment. This program utilizes therapy dogs as the listeners for children of all ages and reading levels.  Drop in anytime during this 90 minute session.

Join us for a fun-filled Storytime designed for ages 0–6, where we’ll read delightful stories with a different theme each week. Afterward, stick around for a simple craft that little hands will love to make and take home!

Luke “Skippy” Harbur is a performer, producer, and educator whose project, musicbyskippy, creates arts experiences for multigenerational audiences. Through beatboxing, songwriting, and other sound producing skills his work celebrates identity and combats isolation culture.

As an educator, he combines the English alphabet, movement, and vocal techniques to teach beatboxing, language development, and anxiety/stress relief. Audiences learn vocal warm ups, movement, singing techniques, and beatboxing sounds through workshops and family focused concerts.

Parents! Do you have a young child who would like practice reading over the summer with a Teen Mentor? Check out our mentor program called A+ Readers! Each Thursday from 2-4 p.m. in July we will meet at the East Hills Library for some fun reading practice time. We will pair up the Teen mentors with young readers during this drop-in program.

Children ages 2-6 years and their grown-ups can learn while playing at our weekly Messy Munchkins sessions in June and July. Each week we’ll have child-directed play time where little ones can explore, learn, and yes, get messy all while having fun!
