Our weekly movie event is hosted by professional movie critic Bob Shultz. This week’s movie is Twister (1996) 113 Minutes, PG-13.

Explore space related activities in this Astronaut Adventure program. 

We'll visit different 'space' stations including an astronaut training obstacle course, crafts, games and snacks.

Intended for ages 3-8, but the whole family is welcome! No registration required.

Walk, crawl or run for storytime at the Carnegie Library. Each session will end with a craft.

Get up close and personal with cool trucks, big vehicles, and meet some of our community helpers at our Touch-A-Truck event! We'll be set up across from the East Hills Library.

Parents! Do you have a young child who would like practice reading over the summer with a Teen Mentor? Check out our new program called A+ Readers! Each Thursday from 2-4 p.m. in June we will meet at the East Hills Library for some fun reading practice time. We will pair up the Teen mentors with young readers during this drop-in program. This program will take place at The Bartlett Center in July!

Join us for Lego Club at the East Hills Library! Come meet with fellow LEGO enthusiasts each month for various LEGO challenges. Can you build it?

For grades K and up.

Children ages 2-6 years and their grown-ups can learn while playing at our weekly Messy Munchkins sessions in June and July. Each week we’ll have child-directed play time where little ones can explore, learn, and yes, get messy all while having fun!

Get ready for National Ice Cream Day with an Ice Cream Taste Test. We'll make our own vanilla ice cream, then taste test several flavors as well, including astronaut ice cream. Which will be best?

If the weather is uncooperative, we will move inside to the Storytime room. Summer storytime is every Monday at 10am through the month of July. This program is intended for children ages 0-8 years.

Join Ms. Sarah for an interactive program learning about animals you may see in Missouri. There will not be live animals, but there will be pelts to touch, skulls and antlers, and animal tracks impressions. Come learn about the animals you may find in your backyard!

Cool off with the staff from the St. Joseph Public Library for an end of Summer Reading Ice Skating Party at Bode Ice Arena.  Admission is free!  The fun is priceless!  All children must be accompanied by an adult. Safe and courteous behaviors are required to participate.  Food and drinks for sell at the Bode concession stand. 

The Book Buddies Pony Express Therapy Dogs, in partnership with the East Hills Library, are offering children a way to improve their reading skills in a unique and fun environment. This program utilizes therapy dogs as the listeners for children of all ages and reading levels.  Drop in anytime during this 90 minute session.

Do you love to do jigsaw puzzles? We do too! But what do you do with the ones you have completed? Now's your chance to swap some you have done with some new to you puzzles at this puzzle swap! Just bring a puzzle (or two, or three) and we'll swap with each other. For all ages, no registration required.
