This summer, the St. Joseph Public Library will be hosting a ten week leadership program at the Downtown Library. The goal of this program being to prepare young people entering 11th and 12th grade (or the homeschooling equivalent) to be better leaders in their community, and to show them some career opportunities available to them in the city of St. Joseph.
What will the schedule look like? We will be meeting every Tuesday and Thursday in June and July from 2 to 4 most days.
- Tuesdays: In-library Sessions.
- Focus on learning through interactive activities and presenters. Topics include working in groups, presentation and why it matters, finding your passions, and other essential leadership skills.
- Thursdays: Off-Site Sessions
- We will meet at an off site location to get tours of local establishments such as Hillyard, the Buchanan County Courthouse, the Law Enforcement Center (LEC), and more!
We will be accepting 16 students this year. Anyone can participate no matter the school that you go to, the grades you get, or if you are in extracurriculars. All that we require is an interest in learning, leadership, and the community.
