Picture it...National Cheesecake Day 2026 at the Downtown Library...Nick shares his favorite episodes of the Golden Girls... Get your palazzo pants and kaftans on for the party! In case you're wondering, there will be cheesecake and a photo op with the stars too!

Children aged 0-6 and their caregivers are invited to learn and play together in the East Hills Storytime Room with the early literacy toy collection. In addition, we will sing songs and fingerplays featuring rhythm instruments, ribbon wands, scarves and/or shakers.

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, we reflect on the history that has shaped our nation. Join us as Evan Banks explores Revolutionary Revels. The American revolution was, arguably, more-or-less born in taverns and public houses. Would the revolution have happened without it? While we can never answer this question definitively, evidence suggests that revolutionary markets, people, and ideas were largely under the influence of these potent potables. This talk will explore usage, changing attitudes, and importance of alcohol around the time of The War for American Independence.

Craft a whimsical forest toadstool or fairy house mushroom. Fiber arts specialist, Saundra, will lead us to create our own unique toadstools and mushrooms using wool roving and a felting needle. Participants should bring an old towel or piece of foam to use as a felting mat; all other supplies will be provided.
