The 1930s were a lawless and violent era in the U.S.; legendary criminals such as Bonnie and Clyde still loom large in the American psyche. St. Joseph had its own version of the outlaw couple: Clarence and Juanita Spargur. Violent and rapacious, their exploits were splashed across the front pages of the region in the mid-1930s. Children aged 0-6 and their caregivers are invited to learn and play together in the East Hills Storytime Room with the early literacy toy collection. In addition, we will sing songs and fingerplays featuring rhythm instruments, ribbon wands, scarves and/or shakers.
