Title Cartoons of St. Joe Boys Pt. 2
Abstract "Cartoons of St. Joe Boys" published in 1905 by Frank F. Finch, staff cartoonist for the St. Joseph News-Press at the time, features many prominent St. Joseph businessmen all accompanied by the artist's signature "The Bird." Shortly after the publication of the book Finch left the News-Press for the St. Joseph Gazette. Finch was at the Gazette for only a few months before leaving St. Joseph to join the staff of the Rocky Mountain News in Denver Colorado. From the St. Joseph News-Press, September 27, 1905: "Cartoons has involved a great deal of work upon the part of Finch and The Bird. It contains almost 300 pen sketches of well-known and popular St. Joseph men, with hints at their special hobbies. The pictures have been made with great care and the work is highly creditable to the young man who has done and is doing much toward entertaining the readers of The News-Press each day."
