The Washington Park Library was built in 1910 and was originally funded with a gift from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation.
The front steps, which are concrete, were last replaced in the late 1980s and again require replacement. The buttress walls require repair or replacement. The brick walls are topped with limestone caps, and one cap is cracked and likely needs to be replaced. Our goal is to preserve and restore the steps and walls by keeping the historical features.
