From January 1st to January 31st, St. Joseph Public Library will participate in Beanstack’s 5th Annual Winter Reading Challenge, “Read for a Better World,” sponsored by Lerner. We challenge our patrons of all ages to read at least one book during the month to help us meet our community goal of 500 books read in January.  All you have to do is keep track of your reading on our Beanstack site at And if you prefer us to keep track of your reading for you, we are happy to do so. Join us and the thousands of other libraries and schools across the nation to keep reading this winter!

Each reader will be entered to win a grand prize. When we meet our community goal of 500 books read, a lucky library patron will get to “Pie a Librarian”, Miss Misty, on a Facebook Live. At 1000, Sports Reporter/Anchor Chris Roush will get a pie in the face and 1500 books read Chief Meteorologist Mike Bracciano will receive a pie in his face. Read on, St. Joseph!
