Join us at the Downtown Library as we start our exciting new series, Celebrating All of Us. This series will be a celebration of all the uniquely wonderful aspects of our community. Each month we will focus on a different group and delve into the ways that we are the same while embracing the ways that we are different.

Storytime in American Sign Language — We invite you to join Micki Keck and Sarah Kurtz for a signed and interpreted storytime. We’ll learn some sign language and get to talk to Micki after the stories, too! Friday, June 14 @ 1 p.m

Getting Down with the Family – Join us for a storytime celebrating the members of our community with Down syndrome. After the storytime, we’ll meet a family that will share their own stories about the experiences that come with a family member born with Down syndrome. Friday, July 12 @ 2 p.m

Looking Through a Blacked-Out Lens: Learning About Our Blind Community — Join Lisa Hellman, Youth LIbrarian from Wolfner Talking Book and Braille Library, in discovering what it’s like to be blind. We will have stations where students can experience different vision conditions. Participants will also learn how to help and interact with blind members of their community. Saturday August 24 @ 2 p.m.
