History Speaks: African-American Community in St. Joseph, 1920.

February 2 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Downtown Library:

History Speaks is a monthly history program dedicated to showcasing local and regional historical topics that people are interested in. Join us every First Saturday for a new and interesting historical topic about St. Joseph and the world around it. In February learn about African-American history in St. Joseph. For the entirety of its history, St. Joseph has had a relatively small African-American community. Using publicly available sources, Dr. Kim Schutte is building a picture of this important-but little understood-segment of St. Joseph’s history.

For more information about the History Speaks program, contact Jennifer Sanders-Tutt at the Downtown Library at 232-8151.
